Carbonate reservoir quality and permoporosity obliteration due to silicification processes in the Barra Velha Formation, Santos Basin, Southeastern Brazil

چکیده

Silicification is a diagenetic process commonly observed in sedimentary sections of the Aptian carbonate deposits Santos Basin that involves replacement minerals with silica. It mostly associated hydrothermal fluids percolating through faults and fractures. CO2 degassing favors an increase acidity. Consequently, became subsaturated calcite supersaturated Given silica content, two distinct behaviors were identified: reduction enhancement permoporous properties. The aim this work to identify alteration due silicification Barra Velha Formation. To accomplish this, qualitative analysis was conducted correlating acoustic borehole images, nuclear magnetic resonance porosity permeability, elemental capture spectroscopy logs performed, followed by quantitative based on crossplot evaluation. Formation divided into three intervals respect content. common behavior permoporosity increase, but locally, also identified. Finally, we established direct relationship between dissolution precipitation, well-defined trend characterized sonic log (DT) density inverse impedance favored improving lack reservoir qualities intrusive igneous interval.

Prevalence and determinants of erectile dysfunction in Santos, southeastern Brazil.

CONTEXT Recent population-based surveys suggest that the prevalence of erectile dysfunction is between 30% and 56% among men over the age of 40. Most of these studies, however, are from the United States or Europe. We need estimates of erectile dysfunction from samples of Brazilian populations, as societies that differ ethnically, culturally, and economically may also differ with respect to pot...

Characteristics and origin of the relatively high-quality tight reservoir in the Silurian Xiaoheba Formation in the southeastern Sichuan Basin

A mature understanding of the sandstone gas reservoir in the Xiaoheba Formation in the southeastern Sichuan Basin remains lacking. To assess the reservoir characteristics and the origin of the high-quality reservoir in the Xiaoheba Formation, this paper uses systematic field investigations, physical property analysis, thin section identification, scanning electron microscopy and electron microp...

Fuzzy Logic in Carbonate Reservoir Quality Assessment: A Case Study from Tarim Basin, China

Received: January 14, 2017 Revised: April 13, 2017 Accepted: May 15, 2017 Abstract: Introduction: To address reservoir quality assessment in highly complex and heterogeneous carbonate reservoirs, a methodology utilizing fuzzy logic is developed and presented in this paper. Based on carbonate reservoir characteristics, three parameters reflecting the macroscopic and microscopic of storage abunda...

Carbonate Buildups in the Pernambuco Basin, NE Brazil.

The Pernambuco Basin represents one of the most prominent regions for deep water oil and gas exploration off the Brazilian coast. This study aims to identify and describe the occurrence of carbonate buildups in the offshore regions of the basin. The study was based on an analysis of a set of 143 2D time-migrated seismic sections that cover the offshore region of the Pernambuco Basin. An interpr...

Stream fish, water and habitat quality in a pasture dominated basin, southeastern Brazil.

A fish survey in 35 stream reaches (from 1st to 3rd order) with physicochemical and habitat assessment in the São José dos Dourados system, southeastern Brazil, was conducted. Most of the basin land cover (77.4%) is used for pasture. From the sampled stream reaches, 24 were of good physicochemical quality, 10 of fair quality, and only one of poor quality. A habitat assessment showed that 10 str...
